The win or go home mentality is a reality for the two teams who play in the leagues last game of the season. A momentous climax starts building among the players and fans in the two weeks preceding the Super Bowl. Ah yes the Super Bowl, a season grand finale that most people look forward to. The over hyped game is as electric to it's fans as it is to it's players. It is a given that the game's winner will celebrate in gigantic fashion while the loser will be dejected to the point of misery but does either the winner or loser really know what they are playing for? Is it about the all or nothing mentality or is the message something more sublime. What I've learned from all my years of watching the NFL is that players and fans want to win the Super Bowl and be crowned it's champion, no matter what the cost. The "win at all cost" is really what the National League is all about.
So who is going to win the big game? I could pick a team to win and give you all my know it all reasons why I expect that team to win but in reality, your guess is as good as mine. I don't want to spoil your momentous climax so I'll keep my pick to my self. Which ever team wins and which ever team loses, the big game will never spoil my climax because I have never and never will associate the NFL with the word climax. Every time I've ever used that word, I have been naked and I am pretty sure, well lets say 99.9 percent sure I will not be setting naked in from of the television on Sunday. Besides if I were only allowed one momentous climax a year you might as well strap me in a wheelchair and push me into the oncoming traffic of Interstate 35.
Don't miss understand me, I'm not climax crazy but I am ready for next years NFL season to begin. Thirteen to sixteen games each weekend, the possibilities of momentous climaxes are endless. I am just glad the television can't talk back and even more glad the television can't see what actually going on in the room.
