The healthy benefits of tea are well documented but tea has never matched coffee's popularity in America. Tea is lower in caffeine and it's naturally antioxidants makes the beverage a healthy alternative for those wanting to cut down on their caffeine intake. But letting go of a caffeine fix has been hard for me to do. I guess "once an addict always an addict" no matter what the poison is. I was drinking way too much coffee, sometimes two pots a day. All that caffeine fed my addiction for years, especially after giving up all forms of alcohol. I've cut back my coffee consumption to one 16 oz cup a day and some days I don't drink any but giving up caffeine completely has not been as successful as I have hope for. I used pharmaceutical patches to end my addiction to nicotine, AA to end my addiction to alcohol but what am I suppose to use to end the addiction to caffeine?
For now, the lower levels of caffeine in Green Tea is the best I can do. Most mornings a 16 oz cup of green tea will usual feed my caffeine addiction if not only in my mind but by lunch, the craving for that daily cup of Java hits me hard. It does not matter if I am at home or on the road, the mind and body seeks out that noon time caffeine fix.
Like a fat person trying to lose weight by using the cold turkey method on their favorite foods, it rarely if ever works. The addiction slightly surrenders and builds up it's defense to what it knows is coming next. The cut back method is not near as hard for the addiction to deal with so that's going to be my plan of attack. Is it noon yet, I need a cup of coffee!
I do not drink tea or coffee. Give me some fresh H2O! Blogger Bro ask what to use to end his caffeine addiction. How about using something call your brain! The brain is the strongest organ in your body so use it to kick the caffeine habit! Try it.....you'll like it!
