As Memorial Day walks through the calendar we begin to notice the year is almost half gone. Even if the weather in Central Texas is still Spring like, some of us begin thinking of far away holidays even though Fall and Winter are almost six months away. The years seem to go by so fast, one year into the next no matter what season it is.

Half Gone
Memorial Day, a one day holiday if you are strict about it or three days if your not. In Central Texas it's not Spring like and the dog days of Summer are still a month away. Noticing the transitions taking place this time of year is easy to do. Will it be a hot Summer a Summer of little rain, everybody wants to know.

Image via Wikipedia Memorial Day is really about honoring those that have passed to the other side prematurely while in military service. The honorees died in the hope that the promise of freedom will go on forever are honored on this day. Yes the year is almost half gone but life is springing up everywhere we look. What ever the weather tells us or how young or old we feel, the promise of freedom is never half over.. It will continue to spring forward just like the seasons do.
