If you could wave a wand making yourself 22 again would you? Most of us middle age humans would grab that wand as fast as we could, never thinking about all the problems that come with being 22 years of age. We would be blinded by such a new found youth. Thinking we could start our life all over again by turning back the clock, all our mistakes in life could disappear with the wave of a wand.
Most 22 year olds in today's world have been pampered beyond belief. They have been monitored, tutored, coached and given privileges like no other generation. For the first time in their lives, all that supervision is gone or soon will be gone. They are entering a world of few jobs and a fear of life style changes that are surly to come. The illusion of a charmed childhood is about to be taken from them, leaving only a cold cold world. A world were being 22 is as bad as it is good. Follow your passion, chart your own course, follow your dreams, find yourself. I heard all those suggestions when I was 22. Those same echos are bouncing around in the minds of today's 22 year olds while they try to find the center of life and all the happiness and joy that lives in that center.
Most of us are egotistical and self concerned most of the time whether we want to admit it or not. Whether we are 22 or 62, that survival mode is always at the center of our being because the overwhelming task of life is always at hand. Would I wave a wand over my head to turn the clock back to 22? NO! I've wadded through too much crap of my own making. Then next time around I might not be so lucky. I'm not about to step off into a hole I can't get out of even if I'm holding a magic wand in my hand. So for all you present day 22 year olds buy your boots now. You are about to wade through life's crap just like we all do and no magic wand is going to make any of that crap disappear.
