A Box of Cookies

     Every year in January, Girl Scouts set up cookie stands.  You've probably seen these stands all over the town you live in.  This year the winter weather has been a lot worse than usual, causing the Girl Scouts to miss out on a huge amount of cookie sales so the scouts have extended their sales through the month of February.
     Girl Scouts are some of the most polite humans on the face of the earth so I can't fathom why anyone would attack them or their organization.  Pro Life groups are saying the Girl Scouts promote anti-life lifestyle but that simply not true. Just because the scouting organization list the  current Democratic gubernatorial candidate Windy Davis as a woman making a difference in 2013 does not mean the Girl Scouts support abortion   The abortion issue is best left at the family level and that's the Scout's stance.  Don't refuse to buy some  cookies just because some public relations department is cranking out an anti abortion agenda.
     The cookie program is important to the girls.  They learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics, all of which are essential to success in life  So buy a couple extra boxes of Thin Mints.
