Romantic Magic

Valentine's Day is the time of year when people in relationships express their love for one another.  For the rest of us who are single it's best to ignore  the day and wait till candy becomes 50% off the following day.  A little self centered but we singles don't have to share that 50% off candy with anyone.  But is that cheap and solitary candy really worth the emotional price we have to pay for being single?   It's not like singles are missing much when that Valentine's card doesn't arrive in the mailbox
Finding a deep, genuine, and emotional connection is difficult for anyone,  single or not.  Better romantic outcomes don't hinge on a box of chocolates or a heart shaped card.  Maybe in our middle school years, a card or box of candy could make us weak kneed  but those day are long gone.  Cupid's arrow does not come in the form of a Hallmark Card or a box of chocolate covered strawberries from Lammes Candies in Austin TX.
The truth of the matter is that nobody knows the secret to a good and lasting relationship and it's likely we'll never find out.  Romantic magic on Valentin's Day can turn normal humans into googly eyed hand holding fools but for all the single humans in the world we simply have to endure Valentine's Day.
