Looking Into The Mirror

It's always hard to admit to our flaws.  The only way to get past our shortcomings is to take a good hard look at ourselves.  The flaw I see most when looking into the mirror is Envy.  Feeling resentful because someone has something I don't is really stupid.  Instead of feeling positive about other people's successes I  seem to be tortured by their successes.  Such a felling of being shorted brings on a feeling of unfairness which can take a huge toll on one's happiness real quick.  Changes over the years helped put things in a healthier prospective but the mirror does not lie.  Becoming more conscious of feelings and thoughts has helped clear the mirror but things can still get a bit foggy with envy from time to time.
Years ago I began using gratitude to find happiness so I thought why not use gratitude to help conquer envy.  Not only did it work but I became much more generous.  Low and behold, efforts to change what I saw in the mirror changed how I interacted with others. and made me appreciate other people's successes.
Do I still get envious every once in awhile, I sure do!  But the secret to a great life is to never stop practicing at becoming a better person.  Leaning to control your feelings rather then them controlling you is the best way to keep the mirror from fogging up.

Amen to this !!! Life has its up and downs ,,,, but overall we should be thankful for what we have...... I know I thank GOD everyday for what I have and how thankful I am to be here on this earth.
