Solar Eclipse

On August 21 a solar eclipse will cut across North America.  At my location I'll see a partial eclipse, about 65%.  The Moon will partial block the Sun between 11:41 AM and 1:38 PM.  Lots of people don't know what an eclipse really is and how special they are.  It's when the Moon lines up between the Earth and the Sun blocking the Sun's light from reaching Earth.  The last total eclipse in North America was in 1979.  If you miss this Monday's eclipse your next chance to see on won't come until 2024 in Central Texas.
Here in Central Texas August is always characterized by scorching heat and unrelenting Sun.  But for a few minutes on August 21 we will get a brief reprieve.  I'll be ready for the event .  Bought the protective glasses and it looks like my viewing spot will be on a golf course in Lakeway Texas.
