Tamales

Tamales have been a staple in Mexico for hundreds of years.  They are one of the Country's most common foods.  Sweet or spicy, chicken, beef, pork of even vegetables all wrapped on a corn husk. If you have never eaten a tamale you don't know what you're  missing.
A tamale is a Latin-American dish made of a corn dough body surrounding a variety of fillings then wrapped in corn husk and steamed .  Usually around the first of November I start seeing them advertised in the grocery stores.  HEB usually sells tamales for $5 a dozen and even throws in a free product with ever dozen you buy.  They are far from the best tamales you will ever eat but they are not the worst either.  If one buys tamales from an individual you'll have to pay $12-$16 a dozen. There is no way tamales are worth that price so I'll stick to HEB and like always put several dozen in my freezer.

YBB's tamales comes from a 97 year old Spanish lady who speaks 0 English and cost $12 a dozen and are twice a big as a HEB tamale. If you eat her tamales.......you'll never eat another HEB tamale again!!!!!!
